The Fort Gallery

THE FORT GALLERY is a community based, nonprofit, artist collective that encourages and supports individual development and exploration in contemporary art.

THE FORT GALLERY features artists who are exploring their personal edge, their individual frontiers, in order to discover their full potential and dialogue with community. Members support the creative process in one another and work together to determine the exploration and direction of the gallery, organizing exhibitions and events that maintain a viable local venue for contemporary arts.

BOG: transformation and memory

Opening Event: Friday, August 21st, 2009, 7 - 9pm

Wetlands provide essential natural services as aquatic filters, habitat and carbon sinks. They are also a repository for ecological and social history. Join artists Doris H. Auxier, Jeff Warren and Suzanne Northcott in their response to the rich life of the Langley Bog. The artists, whose practices include soundscape, installation, painting, and drawing, collaborate with each other and bog researchers in their process. Nestled in Derby Reach Regional Park, this bog is not typically open to the public.

The Fort Gallery is proud to invite you to see the works of Susan J Falk and Kate Bradford. …between here and there will be running from September 9th - September 27th. Please come out for the Opening Reception on Friday, September 18th, 7pm - 9pm…meet the artists, mingle and enjoy the show.

Members support the creative process in one another and work together to determine the exploration and direction of the gallery, organizing exhibitions and events that maintain a viable local venue for contemporary arts.
OPEN CALL FOR NEW MEMBERS
1. Letter of Interest - stating the nature (content, ideas, goals etc) of your work and reason for wanting to be involved in the gallery.
2. Portfolio in the form of digital images on a CD or printed images in a folder. (Original work will be accepted only on the condition that the gallery is not responsible for it and that it can be left at the gallery for at least 2 weeks).
3. Current CV
Submissions will be reviewed by a jury committee of gallery members.
